SUCCESS STORY

Park City Lodging: A Place to Call Home Amid the Coronavirus Pandemic

Park City Lodging has been providing visitors to this mountain resort town with a wide assortment of vacation rentals since 1984. Guests can choose from homes in Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain, Canyons Village, or Old Town. Whether they prefer breathtaking ski-in/ski-out luxury or a condominium in the heart of historic Main Street, Park City Lodging creates unforgettable experiences.

“At Park City Lodging, we are committed to ensuring our guests feel the magic of Park City with every interaction,” explains Rhonda Sideris, Park City Lodging president and founder. “When COVID-19 hit Park City last spring, confidence in the travel industry disappeared overnight. We knew the immediate future would look different, and we would have to rethink the way we did business,” recalled Sideris.

Park City Lodging used this opportunity to grow and evolve its business by evaluating policies and procedures to ensure the business met and exceeded guest expectations. Utilizing a combination of technology and best practices in sanitization, the guest service team instituted several COVID-19 precautions such as contactless, keyless check-in; its housekeeping department overhauled policies that exceeded local, state, and CDC guidelines; and the business relaxed its cancellations and check-in policies to generate consumer confidence.

“When the state of Utah instituted its Shop in Utah grant, we felt seen and heard,” Sideris said.”The program allowed our team to develop valuable promotions with built-in parameters to protect our business.”

Park City Lodging offered guests a 50% discount on their stay with a maximum of a $2,000 discount. Additionally, the business was able to discount during peak periods, something it had never done before. “We’re grateful the Shop in Utah grant allowed us to offer this value to our customers while also keeping our staff employed and our business moving forward,”  Sideris added.
