Rodizio Grill: A Gathering Place for Celebrating Life’s Milestones

Established in 1995, Rodizio Grill was the first Brazilian “churrasco” steakhouse in the United States. Twenty-five years later, the brand remains known for its playful Brazilian spirit, authentic menu offerings, and family-friendly atmosphere. 

Family is at the core of Rodizio Grill’s mission, which is why for 22 years, Rodizio Grill – Salt Lake City supports the community in many ways. The community support for the restaurant did not cease during the pandemic; instead, it expanded. 

Celebrating life’s milestones is important in Brazilian culture; that’s why Rodizio gives its Club Rodizio subscribers a free birthday meal. “2020 was incredibly tough for our business,” said Ivan Utrera, founder and president of Rodizio Grill. “But when we reopened, I felt strongly to not only continue to promote our Birthday Club but to send out belated birthday offers to all our members birthdays we missed during the closure so they could come to celebrate with us.” Since January 2018, the restaurant has given over $270,000 in free birthday meals. 

Giving Back
To give back to students and faculty at Salt Lake School District, Rodizio donates free meals for achievement and appreciation gifts. In 2020, the restaurant donated $54,950 worth of free student meals. Every October, Rodizio Grill also donates 100% sales from one dessert to the Image Reborn Foundation, supporting breast cancer survivors. Since 2016, Rodizio Grill Salt Lake City has donated $13,267. 

Shop In Utah Grant
The Shop In Utah grant allowed Rodizio to distribute free meal coupons to the community – an effort to spread “alegria” (joy) and incentivize guests back into Rodizio Grill. Not only did this give back to the community, but it also allowed the restaurant to hire more staff members, added Utrera.

Rodizio Grill proudly supports over 70 employees monthly and is expanding its staff.
