In the small Utah town of Caineville, population 25, you will find Randy Ramsley, the Mesa Farm Market owner.

Mesa Farm Market has earned a stellar reputation by providing the community and its visitors with a plentiful assortment of farmstead cheeses, fresh bread, coffee and vegetables.

The farm’s herd of about 50 goats produces beautiful milk, that, in turn, makes world-class farmstead cheese. “We milk the goats, we make the cheese,” said Ramsley. “We are so pleased when we see the delight in the eyes of our customers as they savor the deeply sublime and yet complex flavor of Mesa Farm’s cheese.” 

Ramsley and the crew recognize the healthful benefits associated with eating real, clean food. Because they wouldn’t want their goats eating anything they wouldn’t eat, their goats eat only naturally occurring and organically produced feed.

Business at Mesa Farm Market is down 50% to 70% since the coronavirus pandemic, but Ramsley remains optimistic. Caputo’s Market and Deli in Salt Lake features Mesa Farm cheeses and has worked to ensure the farm survives the pandemic. Mesa Farm also does Saturday curbside deliveries to provide their community with wholesome and nutritious food.

Ramsley has been in the farming business for more than 20 years, and he sees a promising future in the nutrient-dense food movement. “I think that COVID-19 is enhancing people’s interest in cleaner, healthier food and an increased interest in locally produced foods,” adds Ramsley.
