Governor’s Office of Economic Development Honored With Gold Davey Award

The Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) was recently honored for its award-winning In Utah campaign. It received gold recognition from the Davey Awards in the cause marketing category.

In partnership with RUMOR Advertising, GOED has worked this year to build Utahn’s consumer confidence and influence healthy behaviors. The mass-awareness initiative motivates consumers to spend their money in Utah and emphasizes the importance of healthy behaviors such as mask-wearing and getting a flu shot.

“We’re honored to receive this award, but more importantly, we’re pleased to see how Utahns have embraced the campaign,” said Pete Codella, director of marketing and communications at GOED. “From the Shop In Utah offers with over 900 businesses offering discounts, to protecting Utahn’s health, the positive campaign has touted all the things we can do and experience in our unique state.”

The annual International Davey Awards honor the “Creative Davids” who derive their strength from big ideas rather than stratospheric budgets. The Davey is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms.
